0 EXCLUSIVE: Gabriela holds rally anew vs oil price hikes

Women’s group blames PNoy, launches signature campaign

I was on my way to the office when I chanced upon a noise barrage at Quezon Avenue at around six o’clock this evening. The protest was staged by women’s group Gabriela in line with today’s series of demonstrations against recent oil price hikes  spearheaded by the CAOPI or the Coalition Against Oil Price Increases.

The group also launches a signature campaign urging the public to join their call. I was the seventh to sign.

As per the group’s position paper, they call their March 15, 2012 protests a big success, saying their actions had compelled several oil companies to temporarily stop oil price increases.

The Man to Blame

Gabriela and other groups apparently put the blame on Pres. Noynoy Aquino for the unabated hikes.
